The Canadian Centre for Child Protection calls for urgent online protection and tech accountability in a powerful new PSA
C3P uses Meat Loaf’s iconic power ballad to urge Canada’s 343 Members of Parliament to better protect children online.

Winnipeg, Canada - As online harms against children escalate, the Canadian Centre for Child Protection (C3P) unveils a powerful new public service announcement, “You Would Do Anything,” urging the Government of Canada to enact legislation and hold tech companies accountable to protect children online.
“You Would Do Anything” features a haunting adapted version of Meat Loaf’s “I’d Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That),” showing parental love and the protective measures they take to ensure their children’s safety. The PSA is punctuated with an urgent call to action – the Government of Canada must table and implement online safety legislation and hold tech companies accountable to prevent harm because parents cannot do it alone.
Reports of child sexual victimization online are climbing as well as direct reports from youth themselves. In 2025, Cybertip.ca received over 28,000 reports with 26% coming from minors. When comparing 2020 and 2025 we’ve also seen a 300% increase in reports of sextortion and an increase in extreme online sexual violence. Through Project Arachnid, C3P’s tool that helps detect known child sexual abuse and exploitation material, we’ve sent over 140 million removal notices to over 1,500 electronic service providers since 2017.
“Parents instinctively and actively protect their kids from harm through their everyday actions but are rendered powerless to protect them online when they are up against platforms that ignore and profit from the devastating harm happening on their services”, says Lianna McDonald, Executive Director of C3P. “This campaign represents what Canadians want and calls on legislators across political lines to pass laws that force tech companies to protect our kids. Children should not bear the burden and cost of unregulated technology.”
C3P developed this national campaign with No Fixed Address, and the rollout includes advertisements across Canada as well as broadcast TV, social media, and digital platforms.
